How to do it

  1. Hold a PVC pipe at hip level with a shoulder-width grip, feet hip-width.
  2. Hinge to lower the pipe to just above your knees, keeping your back flat.
  3. Snap your hips forward explosively and shrug, pulling the pipe up your body.
  4. Drop under it and catch the pipe on your front shoulders with elbows high.
  5. Stand tall, then reset to the hang position.

The one cue that matters

Stay patient over the knees, then explode. The hip snap drives the whole pull.
