How to do it

  1. Hold a wall or rack for balance and stand tall on one leg.
  2. Swing the free leg forward and back in a smooth, growing arc.
  3. Keep the swinging leg fairly straight and your torso upright.
  4. Do your reps, then switch legs.

The one cue that matters

Stay tall and let momentum build gradually, don't yank from the start.

Muscles worked

The Leg Swing is a Hamstrings-first movement, with Glutes working as the supporting cast. Track it consistently and you'll see exactly how it feeds your hamstrings volume for the week.

FAQ

What muscles does the Leg Swing work?

The Leg Swing primarily works the Hamstrings with Glutes assisting.

What if I can't do many reps yet?

Shorten the range or use an easier variation, and stop 1 to 2 reps before failure. Reps build fast when you train just shy of your limit.

One side at a time?

Yes, it's a unilateral movement. Start with your weaker side and match the reps with your stronger side so no side gets ahead.
