How to do it

  1. Grip the rope high overhead and lock it between your feet for a foothold.
  2. Pull with your arms while standing up off the foot clamp to gain height.
  3. Reach higher, reset your feet, and clamp the rope again.
  4. Repeat to the top, then descend slowly hand under hand.

The one cue that matters

Drive through your legs to save your arms, your grip is the limiter on the way down.
