How to do it

  1. Anchor your feet and lower your torso until it is in line with your legs, parallel to the floor.
  2. Clasp your hands in front of your chest and brace your core.
  3. Rotate your shoulders and torso to one side.
  4. Twist back through center to the other side, staying parallel.

The one cue that matters

Hold the parallel line steady, the suspended position is what makes this brutal.

Muscles worked

The Torture Twist isolates the Core — no passengers. That makes it a clean tool for adding targeted core volume without extra fatigue.

FAQ

What muscles does the Torture Twist work?

The Torture Twist primarily works the Core.

What if I can't do many reps yet?

Shorten the range or use an easier variation, and stop 1 to 2 reps before failure. Reps build fast when you train just shy of your limit.

One side at a time?

Yes, it's a unilateral movement. Start with your weaker side and match the reps with your stronger side so no side gets ahead.
