How to do it

  1. Set up in a side plank on your forearm with feet stacked.
  2. Drive your hip up into a straight diagonal line.
  3. Lift your top leg up toward the ceiling, keeping it straight.
  4. Lower with control, finish your reps, then switch sides.

The one cue that matters

Keep your hips high and stacked so the lift comes from the hip, not a wobble.

Muscles worked

The Side Plank Leg Lift isolates the Core — no passengers. That makes it a clean tool for adding targeted core volume without extra fatigue.

What if I can't do many reps yet?

Shorten the range or use an easier variation, and stop 1 to 2 reps before failure. Reps build fast when you train just shy of your limit.
