How to do it

  1. Stand tall with feet hip-width and rest a PVC pipe across your upper back.
  2. Grip the pipe outside shoulder-width and brace lightly.
  3. Bend straight to one side until you feel a stretch down your side.
  4. Return to center and bend to the other side.

The one cue that matters

Keep your hips facing forward, do not lean back or rotate as you bend.

Muscles worked

The PVC Lateral Bend isolates the Core — no passengers. That makes it a clean tool for adding targeted core volume without extra fatigue.

FAQ

What muscles does the PVC Lateral Bend work?

The PVC Lateral Bend primarily works the Core.

What if I can't do many reps yet?

Shorten the range or use an easier variation, and stop 1 to 2 reps before failure. Reps build fast when you train just shy of your limit.

One side at a time?

Yes, it's a unilateral movement. Start with your weaker side and match the reps with your stronger side so no side gets ahead.
