How to do it

  1. Stand facing a wall and hold it for support.
  2. Swing one leg across your body, then out to the side.
  3. Let it flow back and forth in a smooth arc.
  4. Keep your torso steady, then switch sides.

The one cue that matters

Stay tall and let the leg swing freely. Don't twist your trunk to get more range.

Muscles worked

The Lateral Leg Swing isolates the Abductors — no passengers. That makes it a clean tool for adding targeted abductors volume without extra fatigue.

FAQ

What muscles does the Lateral Leg Swing work?

The Lateral Leg Swing primarily works the Abductors.

What if I can't do many reps yet?

Shorten the range or use an easier variation, and stop 1 to 2 reps before failure. Reps build fast when you train just shy of your limit.

One side at a time?

Yes, it's a unilateral movement. Start with your weaker side and match the reps with your stronger side so no side gets ahead.
