Effort still rules
Muscle does not know if the resistance is iron or rubber, it responds to high tension near failure. Push your band sets to 0 to 3 reps in reserve and they will grow you like weights do.
Bands build muscle when you take sets close to failure and progress by shortening the band or using thicker ones.
Bands grow muscle because the muscle responds to tension and effort, not to a specific type of resistance. Take your sets within 0 to 3 reps of failure just as you would with weights, hit 10 to 20 hard sets per muscle weekly, and progressively overload by stepping to a thicker band, shortening the band, or adding reps and slower tempo. The main limit is that bands get very hard at the top and easy at the bottom, so add pauses and control the stretch.

Overload by moving to a heavier band, standing further from the anchor or choking up to shorten it, adding reps, or slowing the tempo. Track these just like you would track adding plates.
Bands are hardest when stretched and easiest at the start, unlike free weights. Pause in the lengthened position and control the return so the easy part of the range still gets tension.
