Training Style

Do I need supplements to make progress?

No; training, protein, and sleep drive everything, with only creatine and maybe whey worth the money.

The quick answer

You do not need supplements to build muscle or lose fat. Progressive overload, hitting 1.6 to 2.2g of protein per kg bodyweight, and sleep do the heavy lifting. The only two with strong evidence and value are creatine monohydrate at 5g a day and whey protein if you struggle to hit your protein from food. Everything else is optional at best.

How to think about it

Creatine is the one worth taking

5g of creatine monohydrate daily reliably adds strength and training volume over time. It is cheap, safe, and among the most studied supplements in existence, no loading phase needed.

Protein powder is food, not magic

Whey is just a convenient way to hit your protein target. If you already eat enough chicken, eggs, dairy, and beans, you gain nothing extra from the tub.

Skip the rest

Fat burners, testosterone boosters, BCAAs, and pre workout blends do little for physique change. Caffeine before training is the only pre workout ingredient that reliably helps.
