How to do it

  1. Set up in the machine with one ankle behind the pad, thigh against the support.
  2. Grip the handles and brace your torso upright.
  3. Curl your heel up and back toward your glute, squeezing the hamstring.
  4. Lower under control to the start, then finish the side and switch.

The one cue that matters

Keep your hips pinned to the pad, swinging your torso to move the weight is cheating the curl.

Muscles worked

The Standing Leg Curl isolates the Hamstrings — no passengers. That makes it a clean tool for adding targeted hamstrings volume without extra fatigue.

FAQ

What muscles does the Standing Leg Curl work?

The Standing Leg Curl primarily works the Hamstrings.

How heavy should I go?

Pick a weight where you finish each set with 1 to 2 clean reps left in the tank. Own the top of your rep range before adding weight.

One side at a time?

Yes, it's a unilateral movement. Start with your weaker side and match the reps with your stronger side so no side gets ahead.
