How to do it

  1. Set up over the bar with a wide snatch grip, flat back, hips down.
  2. Pull explosively, extending hips and knees to launch the bar up.
  3. Pull yourself under fast, splitting one foot forward and one back.
  4. Catch the bar locked out overhead in a stable split stance.
  5. Recover by stepping the feet back together, bar still overhead.

The one cue that matters

Punch into the split and lock the arms hard. A soft catch overhead means a missed lift.
