Lower BackBodyweight

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet wide, holding a PVC pipe overhead in one hand.
  2. Push that hip out and hinge sideways, lowering your free hand down your leg.
  3. Keep your eyes on the overhead pipe as you reach toward the floor.
  4. Drive back up to standing and repeat, then switch sides.

The one cue that matters

This is a hip hinge to the side, not a round. Keep that overhead arm locked and stacked.

Muscles worked

The PVC Windmill isolates the Lower Back — no passengers. That makes it a clean tool for adding targeted lower back volume without extra fatigue.

FAQ

What muscles does the PVC Windmill work?

The PVC Windmill primarily works the Lower Back.

What if I can't do many reps yet?

Shorten the range or use an easier variation, and stop 1 to 2 reps before failure. Reps build fast when you train just shy of your limit.

One side at a time?

Yes, it's a unilateral movement. Start with your weaker side and match the reps with your stronger side so no side gets ahead.
