How to do it

  1. Set the barbell across your upper back and unrack it, feet shoulder-width apart.
  2. Sit your hips back and down into a full squat.
  3. Pause for a two-count at the bottom with zero bounce.
  4. Drive through your heels to stand back up tall.

The one cue that matters

Stay tight in the pause. Don't relax at the bottom or you lose the rebound and risk rounding.
