Add a top pause to the EZ-bar curl and lock in the squeeze.

No swinging, the wrist-friendly bar is no excuse to use momentum.
The one-second pause at the top strips out the bounce and momentum that quietly do half the work in most curl sets, forcing the biceps to own the contracted position outright. Every lowering phase then starts from complete stillness, which keeps tension honest all the way back to the stretch. Use it as a strictness reset whenever regular curls have drifted into swing territory.
At the point of maximum biceps tension, usually just before your forearms pass vertical. If the bar is resting against your shoulders at the pause, you have curled past the useful zone and the hold costs nothing.
Expect a meaningful drop, because the pause removes every trick you normally use to move heavier bars. Judge the sets by the quality of the squeeze, not the plates on the bar.
A genuine full second where the bar is motionless and the biceps are deliberately squeezing. Counting it honestly is the entire exercise, a rushed half beat turns it back into a normal curl.
