Half-kneel on the dome and hinge to load the glutes.

Drive the movement from your hips, keeping your back flat throughout.
Half kneeling with one knee on the dome, the hip hinge loads the leg through a position that demands constant knee and hip control from the quads while the surface shifts beneath you. Your glutes drive the return as you squeeze back up to tall, and the offset stance means each side trains and balances independently. It earns a place as a controlled, low-load hinge for building single-side hip control without any equipment beyond the dome.
Tension through the front and hips of the kneeling side as you hinge, then a firm glute squeeze bringing you back upright. If your lower back is doing the talking, your spine is rounding instead of your hips hinging.
Only as far as your back stays flat and the dome stays quiet. It is a small, controlled hinge, not a bow to the floor, range grows as your balance does.
One knee isolates a single side, so each hip learns to hinge and stabilise on its own. Finish all reps on one side before switching to keep that focus.
