How do I know what to train today?

Follow a set split so the decision is already made, and if you have no plan, train whatever you have not hit in 2 to 3 days.

The quick answer

The easiest fix is to run a fixed split so today's session is decided in advance, upper lower, push pull legs, or full body on a schedule. Without a plan, pick the muscles you have not trained in the last 2 to 3 days, since each muscle recovers and is ready to grow again in about 48 to 72 hours. Aim to hit every muscle twice a week rather than random one off sessions.

How to think about it

Let a split decide for you

A structured split removes the daily guesswork. Upper lower four days, or push pull legs, means you always know today's job and every muscle gets trained about twice a week.

Use the 48 to 72 hour rule

Muscles are recovered and primed to grow again 2 to 3 days after training them. If you are freestyling, train what you have not touched in that window, and let lingering soreness push a muscle to the next day.

Balance push, pull, and legs

Over a week, make sure pressing, pulling, and lower body all get roughly equal attention. A tool like SUUPR can track which muscles you have hit so you can spot what is falling behind.
